Ladies (and gents). Sitting here in northern New Hampshire I see the sun is still high in the sky at 4:07 in the afternoon! It’s thrilling! Who knew I was this easy to thrill. It’s mid February. Valentine’s Day has passed and there isn’t much to look forward to except the lengthening and brightening of our days.
Speaking of brightening our days….I had the honor of talking with Alisa Kennedy Jones last week. I am introducing you to (one of) Alisa’s blog, The Empress because if you like what I do here at WSG I think you’ll enjoy her work. She is funny and irreverent and prolific.
We all get handed our own individual menu of changes during our ‘change of life’ phase and Alisa got handed seizures. So, next time you complain about getting chubby or a lack of estrogen think about what your life would be like with getting the unexpected seizure from time to time. This isn’t what she focuses on, but it has changed her path, as you might imagine. Somehow she is still writing a book, producing The Empress and Gotham Girl weekly, has a screenplay in the works and on and on.
I will release the interview next week, and, I plan to have some plum nuggets (her menopause hacks and products to avoid) for premium readers but, for now….a snippet from my interview Alisa Kennedy Jones:
THE NEXT MONTH FROM WOMEN’S SURVIVAL GUIDE
I’ve been interviewing some pretty fantastic women lately: Alisa Kennedy Jones who writes The Empress and Gotham Girl and many books and screen plays. Meghan Daum who writes The Unspeakable among other projects and many books. Cindy Sterling for whom I sent out a request for questions you might have about any in office skin treatment or face gadget (since the interview got moved that offer still stands! email me or leave a comment with questions! womenssurvivalguide@gmail.com).
Hopefully a helpful heads up. Had a bit of trouble with the first 24 seconds of audio. May be on my end. And yes, Alisa can very irreverent, even/especially about the horrific injuries she suffered while cos playing Marie Antoinette.
